Import Cars from the UAE to Kenya

The UAE — Dubai in particular — offers Kenya the fastest sea route for premium imports, with low-mileage GCC-spec vehicles that thrive in African climates.

Cars sold new in the UAE tend to be full-spec, low-mileage, and traded-in early. Ambient-temperature engineering makes them well-suited to Kenya's climate. Our UAE sourcing partners in Dubai and Abu Dhabi help us shortlist Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, GLE, GLS and Maybach; BMW X5, X6, X7 and M-Sport variants; Range Rover Vogue and Sport; Porsche Cayenne, Macan and 911; Lexus LX 570/600; and Toyota Land Cruiser V8 and Prado.

Sea freight from Jebel Ali to Mombasa is the fastest of any origin — typically 12–15 days on the water, and total turnaround of 25–35 days from confirmed order to Nairobi collection.

  • Full-spec, low-mileage GCC vehicles
  • Fastest sea route — 12–15 days from Jebel Ali
  • 25–35 day total turnaround
  • Ideal for high-end luxury and performance imports

Port Guide

Port Guide

Vehicles are exported from Jebel Ali Port, the busiest re-export hub in the region, and arrive at the Mombasa Inland Container Depot (ICD) — the fastest sea route of any import origin at 12–15 days. A KEBS pre-export inspection (PVoC) is mandatory before departure.

On arrival, the importer must present documents to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). Nairobi ICD (Embakasi) handles inland customs for vehicles destined for Nairobi. Budget 5–10 working days for clearance at Mombasa — port congestion can add delays, so we allow buffer time.

Market Advice

Local Market Advice

Dubai-sourced imports are prized in the Kenyan market for low mileage, full option specs and ambient-temperature engineering that suits Kenya's climate — buyers looking for high-end luxury and performance vehicles ask for UAE stock specifically.

Range Rover, G-Wagon, Cayenne and Land Cruiser V8 hold resale value best from this origin. Neutral colours — silver, white and black — remain easiest to resell. Budget for import duty + excise + VAT (can total 60–80% of vehicle CIF value) plus port handling, customs agent fees, and inland transport.

Questions about importing from UAE

Are UAE-spec cars suitable for Kenya?+

Yes — GCC-spec vehicles are engineered for high ambient temperatures, dust and long highway drives, which matches Kenyan conditions well. Cooling and suspension are typically robust.

Is a UAE import cheaper than Japan or UK?+

For premium brands (Range Rover, G-Wagon, Cayenne) the UAE often wins on speed and spec, but sticker prices can be higher than Japan. We quote all three origins so you can choose.
